Since taking over The Galley of Lorne Inn, the owners Andrew and Sarah Stanton have passionately promoted real ale in their establishment.

Real ale is a natural, living product. By its nature this means it has a limited shelf life and needs to be looked after with care in the pub cellar and kept at a certain temperature to enable it to mature and bring out its full flavours for our customers to enjoy.

Having in the past offered more of the bigger British brands, we have now conciously moved towards supporting smaller breweries from all around the UK.

Our primary route of supply has allowed us during 2010 to have offered over 200 different real ales with not one real ale being repeated at any time. Once the keg has gone that's it, and we're on to something completely new. In addition we do from time to time offer ales from Fyne Ales based in Achadunan, Cairndow, Oban Ales based in Kilmelford, Sinclair Brewery based in the Orkney Isles, Atlas Brewery based in Kinlochleven and Arran Brewery based of course on the Isle of Arran. However, we are always searching for alternative suppliers so one thing's for sure, from one week to the next the choice on offer will change!
